The sugar-loving cat has become an Internet sensation after being caught trying to steal a cinnamon roll off the Christmas table. The 6-year-old kitty’s owner, Sophia Lindner from Ardmore, Philadelphia, snapped the hilarious photo and shared it on Twitter.
The 19-year-old says that Percy has been mischievous since the day they got him. She explains: “Even though he knows the rules, he will still try to sneak around them. He knows how to steal out of Tupperware containers, cupboards, and backpacks.”
And while the sneaky cat understands the word ‘no’, he just couldn’t resist reaching for one of the cinnamon rolls the Lindners traditionally make on Christmas morning. The University of Pennsylvania freshman says: “My mom had put [the rolls] on this TV table, and I could see him eyeing them from underneath.”
Lindner knew right away Percy was up to no good, so she grabbed her phone and captured the exact moment her cat realized he was busted. The amazing photo went viral on Twitter: it has been shared more than 145,000 times and garnered over 285,000 likes.

The student says that her mischievous cat sprinted into the next room after getting caught. Regardless of that, she loves Percy just the same. Lindner concludes: “He’ll be naughty one day, and the next day I’ll wake up, and he’s curled up next to me or sleeping with me. It’s Christmas. What’s the point of getting mad?”
