All together now: awww!
A mother’s video of her premature twins holding hands is going viral! Anthea Jackson-Rushford and her husband, Glen Rushford, welcomed fraternal twins Kristian and Kristiana earlier this month.
The twins were born on January 4 at 28 weeks and 1 day, and weighed in at just under 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) each. The new parents – from Victoria, Australia – have been keeping friends and family up-to-date on the babies’ progress through photos and status updates on Facebook.
The 40-year-old mom said that she has gone public with the twins’ journey because she wants to help other moms of “preemies.” She wrote: “I googled like crazy looking for hope when we told we might be [premature]. I would love to see this kind of positivity as a mum that faces the possibility of a premature baby. To all parents that face this, be comforted in knowing that today anything is possible and your babies will be just fine.”
On January 13, Jackson-Rushford shared a video of her twins and their special moment – they were holding hands as they snuggled into their dad’s chest! The proud and happy mom wrote: “Both my angels holding hands again as if they were born to.”
The beautiful video has been viewed more than 10 million times, and has over 148,000 shares on Facebook.
